Welcome Ershad Kunnakkadan from India
Hi Ambassadors Please welcome Ershad Kunnakkadan, our new ambassador from India. Below is a little about Ershad in his own words...
* What have you done already for openSUSE?
I've just installed openSUSE today and have put its logo in my blog[1]. Currently I'm thinking more ways to promote it.
* What are your plans for promoting openSUSE? Please tell us what you want to do the next 6 months.
I would like to talk about openSUSE, distribute its iso image/disks in local & college meetings, among friends and family.
* Are you ready to start promoting openSUSE?
Of course, yes.
* What do you think is the best kept secret of openSUSE?
Sorry, I'm yet to figure it out.
* Why do you love to do this?
Reason #1: I want to contribute back to community Reason #2: I liked openSUSE very much Reason #3: I'm excited to see the vibrant community of openSUSE Reason #4: I would like to help in making openSUSE better and hence learning new things/
* How did you start with Linux/openSUSE? What is your level of experience?
I started with openSUSE while trying to do small hacks around OBS. I'm still working on that. I've been using GNU/Linux distros for 4 years, I can do a bit of shell scripting and programming in a few languages.
The ambassador program is currently pretty informal and we expect the ambassadors to organize themselves. So, please coordinate with other ambassadors on the opensuse-marketing mailing list: * share with them what you like to do * share what you did, e.g. what kind of event did you organize, how many people joined * share what you learned, explain what was great at your event, what you want to improve * create material that is usefull for you and other ambassadors as well
Sure.
Also, as an ambassador, you're the expert on your country/region, so please share on the opensuse-marketing mailing list a bit about the openSUSE and the FOSS community in your country/region, e.g. what are their needs.
The people here are slowly switching from other operating systems to GNU/Linux distros. I hope openSUSE will be a good option for them and I can help them to use it without pain.
We'd like to send your answers to the opensuse-ambassadors list and thus introduce you as new ambassador. Please keep this in mind when answering and if you don't agree, please tell us!
For adding you to the ambassador list at http://wiki.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ambassadors_list, please tell me: your country, region/city and your user page in the wiki.
I'm from Palakkad - Kerala - India. And I've a small user page here[2] in which I would like add more contents soon.
