... Please add yourself to the wiki!
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Launch_parties
(on the bottom of the page)
That way people can find out there is a party in your neighborhood :D
We plan to give launch parties some extra attention on Monday so if you put
your party on the wiki, more people will know about it!
If you're not comfortable with the wiki, email Kostas or me or the opensuse-
ambassador list with your party information (location, time, date, link to a
blog or site if you have any) and we will add it for you.
We know there are way more than 6 parties and people should know about it.
Help us help you organize a bigger & better party!
And remember, we have materials we can send you. If your party is 2 weeks
(europe, US) to 4 weeks after the release (most of the rest of the world) we
can get you a nice box with openSUSE dvds, posters, stickers, flyers and other
cool things. But of course you need to register, and soon, so we can plan what
to send you.
Thanks!!
Jos

Heya all,
I forgot to git add the translations of the posters, I am uploading them now.
Will take a few hours on my slow connection, sorry! I would still appreciate
it if someone with a fast computer and a fast connection could create PDF and
PNG files for the many svg based posters. That makes it much easier for people
to download and print!
I am currently trying to find out what to print and how many. You can surely
count on the Chinese and Portugese one to be printed, not sure about the rest
yet :D
Cheers,
Jos
Hey Ambassadors
20 days left for 12.1 to be released and once again we have the
greatest Linux distribution to deliver to the world.
openSUSE did the best for us so it is once again the time to ask
ourselves, what can we do for openSUSE?
Are you excited?
Do you feel ready to go out there and evangelize our next release?
Do you know about the up-coming features of 12.1?
Have you blogged or wrote an article about it? Give us a link
Did you started preparations for a Release Party?
Do you have any fresh ideas we could work on?
Do you have any problems or difficulties we can talk about?
We are preparing for Google
Code-In(http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI), you can contribute there
too(http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI_Tasks), either by submitting
an idea or by becoming mentor to one of the tasks, what do you think?
Can you help?
What are your plans? Let everybody know
Let's Be Creative
Let's Share Thoughts
Let's Talk
What better time than now?
What better place than here?
Rock on and Have Fun with openSUSE

I think using Kablink for openSUSE would be a great idea. Kablink is the
opensource version of Novell Vibe OnPrem. I made an openFATE feature, and ask
that before you vote on it, you be sure to follow the links to really
understand the enormous potential this technology has of enabling us to do
better work.

Heya all,
I've just finished updating the posters we made last year at SCALE in
the USA. They are ready for translation and I can then print a bunch in
time for the openSUSE 12.1 release parties!
Who's up for translating them? download the svg files at the link below,
translate them (open in Inkscape, edit the text) and mail them back to
me...
I will try to get at least Spanish (in the USA and Brazil and Spain),
Portugese (Brazil), Chinese (Taiwan/China) and a few European languages
(German, French, more?) printed. Of course IF they are translated :D
Find the posters here:
https://github.com/openSUSE/artwork/tree/master/posters/openSUSE%20is%20coo…
The files:
FlyerFINALVERSION-OBS-STUDIO-KIWI_11x17-light.svg
FlyerFINALVERSION-AppInstaller-Desktop-connect_11x17-light.svg
FlyerFINALVERSION-Tumbleweed_11x17-light.svg
FlyerFINALVERSION-OBS-STUDIO-KIWI_11x17.svg
FlyerFINALVERSION-AppInstaller-Desktop-connect_11x17.svg
FlyerFINALVERSION-Tumbleweed_11x17.svg
I made the light ones new but can't really decide if they look better or
not. I DO know the light ones will be easier to print, the normal ones
can be problematic in that regard due to the heavy use of black which
makes the paper wet and soft... We will have to see with the printers
which ones they can print.
We do kind'a need to get this translated before Wednesday so we can
start printing...
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Jos
Hi ambassadors
Yesterday I released this article
http://news.opensuse.org/2011/11/02/will-you-party/ about people who
want to Party the 12.1 coming.
Well once again the time has come for the openSUSE community (and not
only) to Party.
Are you ready?
Do you know how? http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Launch_party_HOWTO
could really help you to do it.
An e-mail here telling others any problems you might have in order to
organize a party could be helpful too, we are here to help each other
after all ;-)
Don't forget to register your party here
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Launch_parties
Promote your party by telling the openSUSE:News
team(news(a)opensuse.org) about your event so they write a post for
openSUSE News.
Need some promo stuff? Of course you do ;-) 12.1 Promo DVD will be
ready by the end of the month send an e-mail to promodvds(a)opensuse.org
to request DVD and other cool stuff we can send you.
Co-ordinate your local community and do Great things with other
people, having difficulties there? Contact the Ambassador welcome
team(ambassador-welcome(a)opensuse.org) or this list, there are many
people around that are willing and can actually help you, more than you
can imagine.
