Re: [opensuse] xtables-addons-kmp-default not updated to latest kernel-default version
It seems xtables-addons-kmp-default in update-OSS still is lacking
behind the current patch level of kernel-default 4.12.14-lp150.12.25.1.

Is there any new to the issue? I don't see any bug reports related to
this for Leap 15.0. Any recommendation where I can get a current package
from?

Subject: [opensuse] xtables-addons-kmp-default not updated to latest
kernel-default version

23.09.2018 05:41, Holger Jakob пишет:
Current xtables-addons-kmp-default:
i+ | xtables-addons-kmp-default | Paket |
2.14_k4.12.14_lp150.12.13-lp150.3.2.1 | x86_64 | Leap-15-Update
v  | xtables-addons-kmp-default | Paket |
2.14_k4.12.14_lp150.11-lp150.2.25     | x86_64 | Leap-15-OSS

Current kernel-default versions available:
i+ | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.12.16.1 | x86_64
| Leap-15-Update
i+ | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.12.13.1 | x86_64
| Leap-15-Update
v  | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.12.10.1 | x86_64
| Leap-15-Update
v  | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.12.7.1  | x86_64
| Leap-15-Update
v  | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.12.4.1  | x86_64
| Leap-15-Update
v  | kernel-default       | Paket      | 4.12.14-lp150.11.4    | x86_64
| Leap-15-OSS

This breaks xtables-geoip as module xt_geoip is not found in
/lib/modules/4.12.14-lp150.12.16-default/

I have to downgrade to 12.13

A similar issue has been reported on 8 Aug 2018 for 12.10 so it seems to
be a reoccurring issue.

https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1104300

Unfortunately due to comment that had absolutely nothing to do with
original problem bug was classified incorrectly and so effectively ignored.

The problem was *not* that module required older kernel version, but

Warning: /lib/modules/4.12.14-lp150.11-default is inconsistent

which apparently prevented weak updates from working.

I am not sure what path forward you are suggesting. The bug you refer to
was considered fixed and closed in August. Do we need a new bug opened now?
This effectively prevents me from migrating from Leap 42.3 to Leap 15
since May.
