Just now I joined #suse, but only after issuing

/msg nickserv identify <password>

I can not even open the channel to type any command on it.

[12:29] [Channel] Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be identified
with services - see https://freenode.net/kb/answer/registration

I get that response written on #opensuse-es instead.

I get that too, but then I issue the identify:

[2018-08-23 08:08] [473] #opensuse Cannot join channel (+i) - you must
be invited
[2018-08-23 08:08] [Channel] Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be
identified with services
[2018-08-23 08:08] [-> nickserv] identify mypassword
[2018-08-23 08:08] [Notice] -NickServ- You are now identified for
pjessen.

After that, it's fine.

I'll use the "Frenode" top window.

[13:34] <-> nickserv> identify ****
[13:34] [Notice] -NickServ- Invalid password for robin_listas.

What?

I copy paste the password that I was given on email last April.

I don't know if there is some service to get the password emailed to me
again :-?

Heck. I scanned the logs for the keyword "REGISTER" and the password was
another one. Now I get:

[13:43] <-> nickserv> identify ****
[13:43] [Notice] -NickServ- You are now identified for robin_listas.
[13:43] [Notice] -NickServ- 122 failed logins since last login.
[13:43] [Notice] -NickServ- Last failed attempt from:
robin_listas!~cer@****.dynamicip.rima-tde.net on Aug 23 11:34:57 2018.

WTF!

The email I have saved says:

+++--------------
robin_listas,

In order to complete your account registration, you must type the following
command on IRC:

/msg NickServ VERIFY REGISTER robin_listas AAAAA

Thank you for registering your account on the freenode IRC network!
--------------++-

But the password there is a one time verification password, not the
permanent password!

I'm lucky that the log saved the real password.

And changing the configuration in Konversation to this other password,
now SASL works.

The help people at #freenode did not figure this out, either. :-/
