Well, this issue you solve by cancelling the upgrade, editing in fstab
all /dev/sdcX entries so that they are by UUID, label, id, or path,
(plus mkinitrd), restarting the system to verify it boots, and finally,
trying again the upgrade procedure.

I believe you already did this part.

Possibly also try to redo grub configuration. I would start (in the
non-upgraded machine state) run YaST boot configuration module, do at
lest one trivial change, namely change one second up or down the
timeout, which forces YaST to reinstall grub2.

This is a YaST internal bug, and the message says what to do with it.
Very unfortunate. In the Bugzilla, hopefully someone will tell you how
to do the upgrade, then.

Well, I don't know what this one means.

It is calling grub2-mkconfig, so it is grub related. Andrei will know
more about it.
