You missed something. Leap is LTS, since it will have support for as long as
the "connected" SUSE+SP versions.


Normal SLE SP is not LTS. Its lifetime is 6 months after next SP is
released. Usually last SP of a version becomes LTS - but then you also
need to pay extra to get access to it after regular support ends. I
wonder what will happen with Leap 42.4 (or whatever SP will be the
last) ... will it continue to receive fixes from SLE12 SP4 LTS?
