Sorry for the screw up in numbers. You are correct. But my question
still stands, what do I do next? I am trying to build a new system,
specifying in the partition manager that I wanted to use device names
rather than UUIDs. But when I examine the fstab, the swap and home
partition are listed by device name, but the system partition is still
listed by UUID:-( I don't know enough of the internals any more to
understand what broke here.

If by "device name" you mean like "/dev/sda1", its usage is deprecated,
so it is possible that the installer doesn't use them intentionally.

You should choose one of id, uuid, label, etc. Have a look at
"/dev/disk/" to check the possibilities.

That said, once the installer is done, you can write whatever mode you
prefer. But if you choose device names, it is possible that the
installer refuses to upgrade next time. YaST did so in the past, that
I'm sure.
