this was a topic already. firefox does this with or without flash, it
just keeps everything in memory what you have visited and never ever

You win a millisecond when going back to an already visited page, for
the price that everything gets slower, and in the end you don't even win
that millisecond, but still pay the price...

It is very annoying, but it is as is...

The issue then becomes, what are the alternatives?

Chrome (and its variant from Google)?
Konqueror?
Reconq?
Qupzilla?

For many of us it is the plugins available that make FF so attractive.

I think it's a matter of personal preferences.

For me ff is still the best choice. My "solution" then is to close all firefoxes from time to time when things get too slow. I can live with that, although I'd prefer it wouldn't be necessary.

(I don't want chrome for googles barefaced inquisitiveness and absolute lack of respect for its users.)
