Yes, but WHY?

I've got snapshots of the rootFS, and changes to the root FS, all
without doing that.

problem how to teach Yast/Grub to generate proper paths, iow. how to use

/@/boot/... instead of /boot/... since manually editing during the boot
time works?

Perhaps you should take the fact that yast can't/wont do that as a hint
that it shouldn't/needn't be done?
