That's a bit of a cheat, isn't is, because dnsmasq is a DHCP server, DNS
server, uses NAPTR records which allows the use of
regular-expression-based rewriting of domain names which can then be
used as URIs. That's a bit more than the 'traditional' BIND/DNS and
since its all 'internal', eliminates the need for RFC2136 style
communication between the separate DHCP and DNS servers. Calling
dnsmasq a dns server is a bit like calling a a Ferrari an internal
combustion engine on wheels. It is, but there's a good deal more to it!

LOL. But it works, and it is quite simple to setup.


What I don't know is how to tell it that a certain IP is the 'MX', say.
Maybe it is possible, maybe not.
