Not in openSUSE since long before systemd.

Strange.. it always worked for me before systemd.

That would be a good method to go back to.

You can use SuSE 7.3 if you wish... I don't.

Systemd hasn't been in existance that long.

SysVInit works exactly as Ruben describes.
