Re: [opensuse] Why is RasPi worth more effort than older PCs? or Macs?

I'm no expert, but I would venture a guess that the Raspberry Pi is so
popular for two reasons

1) it's cute and a fad right now.

+1
"A Media Darling"

2) it's small size and easy adaptability make it very functional for
adding computer controls to a variety of devices.

As if no-one has ever heard of the Arduino board.

Better documented and better supported than the Pi
Search for the books and add-ons

And if you like robotics

The Arduino is very popular with RC modelers and for quadracopters - read "drones"

Yes you could apart/hack these to use with the Pi, but the point is that they are 'native' to the Arduino and it was there first.

How long did the whining go on when KDE2 went on KDE3?

The only universal constant is change. If a species can not adapt it
goes extinct. That's the law of the universe, adapt or die.
