When you begin the installation, try using the keyboard to add the term
"nomodeset" without the quotation marks at the bottom of the first
installation screen as one of the installation parameters.

AFAIK, typing "e" give you the grub editor

If using Grub2, not what you get by default if upgrading an installation that has only Grub, where most openSUSE installations have Gfxboot installed and all that is necessary is to append nomodeset to the proposed cmdline fragment already presented.

Note an installation media boot menu is presented by neither Grub nor Grub2.
