Does grub legacy support shifting menu title?

Does grub legacy display half of the menu entry?

Or use menu entries so long that they don't fit?

Or once you edit a menu entry (to make it shorter), does it change the menu entry destroying your changes?

Or do you need to learn coding to change menu entries?
