Ok, I have the driver for the card loaded:

lsmod | grep e1000e
e1000e 252782 0

./netdriverinfo.sh

: 01:00.0
Make/Model = Intel Corporation Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter
Ethernet controller = Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network
Connection VenID:DevID = 8086:10d3
Driver name = No driver loaded
Driver version = No driver loaded

Modinfo e1000e as version: 2.1.4-k
alias: pci:v00008086d000010D3sv*sd*bc*sc*i*

And the Id string seems to be present

This worked under 3.7.9

Suggestions anyone? I can roll back if needed, but I'd really rather
not

I don't know what "netdriverinfo" is, but does the card actually not
work? What does "dmesg" show?
