Yes, that's my case too. 2008 in a logical partition, Linux in another... and
had to use third
party easybcd.


Weird or unfriendly partition setups are not due to anything in Windows in
particular, these
are decisions made by the hardware oem. And taking all 4 primaries is one of
the worst
examples.

Absolutely.
Soon it will be a thing of the past, with GPT and UEFI, though. But meanwhile
it will be a
suffering till those two things work nicely.
