I hoped that it was by accident set in one of them so that you can
disable setting the size, otherwise I have almost no clue what it can be.
Just to be sure it is something in your users/session settings at all,
can you create a new user "dummy" or similar and log into KDE as that
new user and see how konsole behaves there? Just to narrow a bit if it
is something special to your users KDE settings or some system wide
behavior caused by whatever.
