Same in the City of Mississauga, Ontario public buildings (libraries, community centers, etc.). All you need to connect is a library card number.

Many access points support multiple SSIDs and VLANs to enable this. In fact, a few years ago, I set up a network at a senior's residence. There were two SSIDs enabled. One for the staff allowed access to the business network and the other for residents and visitors to access the Internet.
