I think you are just so missing the point Carlos and I am trying to make.

Its about EXTERNAL KNOWLEDGE as in the knowledge that the sysadmin has.
He KNOWS the wiring, the IP address of the server that has the NFS
services. That's why he's 'hard wiring' things.
