I agree here, you are better off switching to GoogleTalk to place VOIP
calls.

Google Voice (the VoIP option) is only available in the USA. With
GTalk, you can only call PC-to-PC to someone who is also using
GTalk...

There's also GoogleVoice, perhaps also only in the USA, that can be used to place calls to landlines, domestic and international.
