I'd bet money on it. I also noticed it started after video was shot by the camera. I suspect the card couldn't keep up with the video data rate and got cooked. After the video was recorded, about 6 out of 10 files exhibited this corrupting. The ones that were saved to the good part of the card where (I guess) the FAT was intact, all was good.

This was a good quality card as well for the time (supposedly...) It occurred on a SanDisk Extreme III card. I'm going to run a few more tests with in on 11.4 and see if I can reproduce it. I'll let you know if I come up with anything interesting.

What is the best way to format one of these disks? In camera? mkfs.vfat?
