[SLE] RealPlayer G2 on SuSe 6.2

Yesterday, I finally got sound going on my Linux setup. I downloaded RealPlayer G2 and it worked beautifully. Today, RealPlayer run but no sound coming out. All other sound functions still work. I can still play my CD, have system sound BUT no sound when I run RealPlayer. /var/log/message said kernel: Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error? but KDE sound still work. I have re-installed RealPlayer 3 times now, still no sound when I run the RealPlayer. Any help is appreciated. Creating a new user for a deamon

Mount Windows NT(NTFS) drive as drive Z: for all users

We have an winNT server and need to auto mount a shared folder as if it were a windose mapped drive Z: on SuSE8 Could someone please explain how to do this and how to make sure it is set-up for every user everytime the system is booted. Thanks Regards Keith Jacobs New to Linux

Adding fonts?

Hi all, Reading some mails on the GIMP mail list, I ran across the procedure to install some more fonts for not only Gimp, but the system and StarOffice to use also. Well, I installed the fonts, went to the shell and issued the command xset fp+ <font directory> and then the rehash command and all fonts are there! Ok, that went well, but each time I restart the system, I have to do it all over again? [opensuse] Where can I get genIS_PLAINcache

Hi, I am trying to set up a simple repo, I read on the opensuse site about a binary called genIS_PLAINcache, because I can't see to find it or the package yast2-packmanager either. Can someone help. [opensuse] virtualbox in 11.4 with kde3

[opensuse] installation error

Started to intall 11.4 on a new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed. Installation from DVD downloaded (MDsum checked). After the various choices of partioning and software (accepted defaults for partionning and mostly for software), when installation begins, it stops almost immediately with: failure occurred during following action: creating volume /dev/sd7. System error code was: -1007 sda7 was to be the swap; sda8 root (ext4), and sd9 home (ext4). sda1 is Windows/C; sda2 is Windows/D. I suspect the reason for using 7, 8, and 9 is that this is the third try, and that the first one set up 3,4 and 5. The Windows partition appears to have been correctly shrunk, and Windows will still boot. The installation suggests these three linux partitions be set up (and gives me the chace to alter them), so my guess is that there is space there but unpartitioned. When the error is presented, it asks if I want to go ahead anyway: so far I have said no. Machine specs: Intel mobile i5-241M 2.3Ghz; NVIDIA GT 555M 2GB PCIe; 8 GB DDR-3 1333; motherboard: Intel HM65 Express Chipset Mainboard. Suggestions? Hello all, I have do a fresh update of an OpenSuse to OpenSuSE 11.4. All works fine, except the update process. It always resolve download.opensuse.org into the IPV6 address. The result is the following: zypper ref Download (curl) error for 'http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.4/repodata/repomd.xml': Error code: Connection failed Error message: Failed to connect to 2001:67c:2178:8::13: Network is unreachable I have tryied also to put into hosts the entry like: 195.135.221.134 download.opensuse.org but nothing, always resolv to ipvs. But the host command resolve it like this: host download.opensuse.org download.opensuse.org has address 195.135.221.134 download.opensuse.org has IPv6 address 2001:67c:2178:8::13 Ipv6 is disabled: cat /etc/modprobe.d/ipv6.conf #install ipv6 /bin/true Urgent help needed, i am stuck....
