Hi,

Intel PRC users are unable to access https://build.ta.otcshare.org/,
https://api.ta.otcshare.org/, https://repo.ta.otcshare.org/

Could you please get the tech support to check if there is any blocking at your
end on below IPs? Thank you.

Subject: RE: Issue with China based employees accessing websites

Hi GSM team,

I Configured my explorer to use PRC proxy and found that I can reach main page
of website https://otcshare.org,

However it returned http error code 503 when I try to reach other sites which
seems to be associated with same organization. It appears that server is
refusing connection when connection is made by using PRC proxy IP addresses or
it something on Internet could blocking it.

Can we ask owners of these sites to check and allow communication our PRC proxy
ip addresses if they block it based on source IP. We can redirect traffic to
other proxy for PRC users due CCR rules.

Proxy team- suggest if we can do anything else.

Thanks

I think here the issue is the PRC users can’t access below sites if they point
to China proxy’s.

https://build.ta.otcshare.org/

https://api.ta.otcshare.org/

https://repo.ta.otcshare.org/

“I have tested using US based proxies and the sites work, when I point to a
china based proxy, the sites do not work.”

Yes, the issue is with these few DMZ subnets itself, is there any specific
reason that we need to do this, if not we could redirect them to China proxies
instead of FM.

I have just looked at the autoproxy script and have tested using client IP
10.239.1.1 on the Autoproxy Diagnostic URL
(http://proxyweb.intel.com/bin/autoproxy.pl ) and see no redirection to any
proxies other than the PRC proxies. The only instances are for a few DMZ
subnets that go to FM or JF proxies.

Rod,

Have no idea about what has or has not transpired here.
This should have been escalated by GSM to NTS Ops.
GSM should know how to do that.
NTS Ops can (and does) make changes to the Autoproxy script, they know how to
do this, I can only assume they have not seen the escalation.

Proxy Ops:

Can you look into this. PRC subnets need to stay in PRC using PRC Proxies.
Please treat with priority.
They cannot (by Chinese law) be re-directed or failed over to non-PRC Internet
access.
Also, if you haven’t seen this, we need to have a discussion with GSM on how
to escalate Autoproxy issues!

This issue has been open for over a week now. How can we get the escalation to
the correct place?

Thanks,

Hi James,

How d owe go about this issue, China users are being diverted to the specific
subnets to use JF proxies, while the fact remains that we cannot use any other
proxy other than PRC ones for PRC users.

All,

As mentioned in previous finding, the issues is related to the current
autoproxy script redirecting PRC users to use JF proxy for the access. Please
help to check when the fix can be completed and reply to the customers, thanks,

Hi Ryan,

Below is the update we received from CT account manager on last Thursday.
We’ve been pushing them for resolution but the progress is slow and they are
facing difficulties as well.
GSM Network will continue to push them for faster resolution.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you.

know there's some difficulty for handling the problem like this.

Ryan,

We’ve been pushing CT for update but they have not come back with anything.
I’ve escalated to the account manager. Will keep you posted.
In the mean time, please use the US proxy to access the websites.
Thank you.

Hi,

More information:

I cannot access the web in Intel’s network (using Chinese proxy). But I can
access this web from public internet (internet from home and do not use any
proxy). So I guess that the issue related to the proxy.

This issue blocks my work very very much from last Friday… (some part of work
can only be done in Intel office) So can you please help to resolve this issue
ASAP?

GSM,
I have been notified of an issue that China based employees are having reaching
these websites:

https://build.ta.otcshare.org/

https://api.ta.otcshare.org/

https://repo.ta.otcshare.org/

I have tested using US based proxies and the sites work, when I point to a
china based proxy, the sites do not work. I believe there may be an issue with
the local ISP in China blocking the sites. Can you contact China telecom and
see if they are blocking these sites? I have copied the customer, Ryan Zhou.
He can provide any details you may need.
