How do I edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file then save it ?

um, with a text editor of course. you'll have to start is as root, since
xorg.conf belongs to root and can't be modified from any other user
account.

don't know whch text editor you prefer; to open it in kwrite and open
xorg.conf straight away, you'd type "kdesu kwrite /etc/X11/xorg.conf" in
krunner, i.e., after pressing <alt + F2>. you'll be asked for the root
password before kwrite starts with the file already open.
