[SLE] RealPlayer G2 on SuSe 6.2

Yesterday, I finally got sound going on my Linux setup. I downloaded RealPlayer G2 and it worked beautifully. Today, RealPlayer run but no sound coming out. All other sound functions still work. I can still play my CD, have system sound BUT no sound when I run RealPlayer. /var/log/message said kernel: Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error? but KDE sound still work. I have re-installed RealPlayer 3 times now, still no sound when I run the RealPlayer. Any help is appreciated. Creating a new user for a deamon

Mount Windows NT(NTFS) drive as drive Z: for all users

We have an winNT server and need to auto mount a shared folder as if it were a windose mapped drive Z: on SuSE8 Could someone please explain how to do this and how to make sure it is set-up for every user everytime the system is booted. Thanks Regards Keith Jacobs New to Linux

Adding fonts?

Hi all, Reading some mails on the GIMP mail list, I ran across the procedure to install some more fonts for not only Gimp, but the system and StarOffice to use also. Well, I installed the fonts, went to the shell and issued the command xset fp+ <font directory> and then the rehash command and all fonts are there! Ok, that went well, but each time I restart the system, I have to do it all over again? [opensuse] Where can I get genIS_PLAINcache

Hi, I am trying to set up a simple repo, I read on the opensuse site about a binary called genIS_PLAINcache, because I can't see to find it or the package yast2-packmanager either. Can someone help. [opensuse] kernel messages - disk errors?

We had a generator test at work over the weekend that exceeded the UPS time limits so machines shut down. They've all come back but I'm seeing a lot of messages in /var/log/messages of one of them (every few minutes). I strongly suspect they're telling me to buy a new disk but I need to find and read the friendly manual to be sure. Can anybody confirm my suspicion and/or point me at the correct manual? [opensuse] protocol not supported bluetooth

Hi all, Version 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0) "release 155" running fine. When I execute kbluetooth I get the following error message after clicking on the systray icon: "protocol not supported bluetooth" ...when I click on "OK", Konqueror launches but nothing happens. However, I can discover devices with "hcitool scan" or even using "kbluemon"... and that's it. [opensuse] How to set up LIRC?

Well I am lost, so need a few pointers to get me started... I am running SuSE11.1 and need to get the lirc daemon up an running. Searching around on the internet I get quite a bit of difference information that relates to various other distro's or versions and nothing I can find seem to apply to SuSE. I have use YaST to install all the pertinent packages for LIRC, installed the config files for /etc/lircd.conf and .lircrc in my home directory as I was instructed to do. Most of the documentation I have read seem to imply there should be a device - /dev/lirc but I do not find such. Trying to start the lircd service gives me an error saying as much... So what do I have to do to get the lircd service up an running under SuSE11.1? Much appreciate any and all help offered..
