Argh! Must be a pain on the backside to work out the delays for tcp/ip

You have no idea how much havoc high winds have on the stack causing
delays. :-))

I was rather thinking on particle bombardment of the carrier media, specially of the Pb macromolecules types, chemically powered. This causes irremediably lost packets.

Another issue to consider is nylon net-traps, used by hackers to catch packets and replace the contents with data of their own.
