Maybe because nobody really uses it anymore ?

Well, for the record, I have to.
Grub doesn't work on my system at all.
(openSUSE 11.1 32bit on x86_64 hardware w/ 2 750GB disks.)

Useless. Deaf. They just wanted to save costs and dumped lilo, no matter
what damages were caused to others.

You should have your issue reported on bugzilla, so that there is
written record.

Well, I tend to open openSUSE bugzilla tickets only if I'm fairly
sure that there will be a chance they will be looked at. And here
the probability was very high that the ticket gets closed with
WONTFIX, since Grub 1 is not supported upstream any more and LILO
is unsupported as well.

After all, writing a good ticket is work, and I don't have spare
time to waste. In my copious spare time I try to work on my Open
Source projects where this available time is better spent, IMO. :-)

That said, it's a pity. I prefer Grub over LILO, actually; when it
works it's much more flexible, both at boot time with its ability
to edit the boot configuration. Even better would be OpenBIOS
firmware in my PCs, but that's a dream.
