Opening a bug in http://bugzilla.novell.com would probably be a good first
step

A clear description of the problem, the system where it happened, and the
differences between it and the system where it works also help the developers
find issues

Isn't jpilot java? If so, java programs don't segfault, they throw a java
exception and print out a stack trace. If there really is a segfault, it will
come from the jvm itself, so you might want to try a different one as well,
and see if that helps things
