Randall, that has got to be one of the coolest pieces of advice I've
seen here. "man xargs" doesn't even mention it.

huh? It's what xargs does. It's the basic functionality of the program

But the thing is, the xarg's man page does not clearly say that it joins arguments up to the size limit. There are hints that concurs with that fact, but it is not clearly stated :-)
