Can't get to work, or is muted? Check to be sure.

You won't get a whole lot of support from the default SuSE kernel... that
HD Audio controller is very new. If you want all the audio sources to show
up (rather than the simple analog out the mixer makes available by
default), you'll want to install the beta ALSA drivers. Not the utilities,
not the libraries, JUST the drivers.
