You will have to use fwcutter to extract the firmware files from the
windows driver bcmwl5. Those files will go into the /lib/firmware
directory. Then bcm43xx will load the firmware into the wireless chip and
it should become active. Currently bcm43xx only works with V3 firmware
files, not V4 which may be in some of the later bcmwl5 files. If bcm43xx
does not work, you will have to blacklist bcm43xx and use ndiswrapper.

I have the dv6125 and use ndiswrapper (1.31) because bcm43xx cannot
identify the broadcom chip (idenified as a dell 1390).
You did not indicate if your running 32 or 64 bit. Remember that you will
need the 64bit windows drivers for ndiswrapper if your running 64 bit.
