These things may sound simple-stupid, but the obligatory question is:

- does `fdisk -l /dev/yourlvmdevice` show the new "disk" size?

Yes, it shows the correct, bigger, disk size.

- did the 1K-blocks value in `df` grow?

Nope, nothing.
