If you knew how to swim in windows (ie, compile, use makefiles, etc), then
it is not so dificult. You have to change your swiming style, that's all.

It is much different when you have to create a new package. But compiling
something that has being prepared to be compiled is not that difficult.

But of course, compiling something for kde or gnome IS more complex.
