no screen after update

After an extensive update my system hang and I did a hard reset. Suse 10 did
not want to boot after this reset. It stops in console and after the password
it does not react on startx. I get the info that there is no screen
recognized. the kdm.log shows following. Somebody with a Linux solution?
Repair? Reinstalling is the last option ;(
