agreed, the first test is on the WGT624

thanks, I tried that:

wahoo:~ # rcnetwork restart eth0
Shutting down network interfaces: eth0 done
Setting up network interfaces: eth0 (DHCP) IP/Netmask: 192.168.1.2 / 255.255.255.0 done

wahoo:~ # ping 192.168.1.1
PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 3013ms
