Fully Qualified Domain Name. One that resolves to the same address no
matter where the resolution is initiated.

By the way, A FQDN need not have three parts, it may have only two. Many
people have ceased to use the conventional "www" component.

Often, two-component DNS names in the Web will be redirected to another
address with more components, but not all are.
