Ok :-)

But there is no need to post all that (11Kb!). The 3 last lines are
enough, they show the error.

I'm not a Linux developper either, but my educated guess is that you need
some other whatever-devel package. File /lib/libz belongs to zlib.rpm, so
you should need zlib-dev.rpm, I guess.

And a quick check shows that there is such a package on the dvd.

Obvious, isn't it? O:-)
