I have found it is much simpler than all this, some of the set up configurations are off. I just used both Alsamixergui and Kmix turned on the switches in both and got my Audigy2 to work just fine. Some of the sliders on the very right side have to be turned up (emu401) s, I think. I'm at work and not at my machine. I have found you have to turn on some things in both volume controls to get it to work. I just play some ogg music files with both mixers on screen and adjust until it sounds right. Kmix has some buttons under the switches tab that have to be set for it to work.

I recently installed SuSE 9.2 on my AMD64 machine that runs a Creative Soundblaster (Model SB0400) Audigy 2 Value. I've updated through YOU to the latest kernel. YaST can't configure the soundcard so I contacted the alsa-user list and a poster said that I needed the latest version of Alsa since support for this card was just added.
