Hi all:

I have SUSE 9.2 with the default SUSE kernel, 2.6.8-24.11-default.
During bootup the system hangs for about 25-30 sec. Then it finishes
the bootup normally.
The boot messages are:

Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 7.00alpha2
ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with
idebus=xx

Here ~25 sec hang, then

hda: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-108, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive

The motherboard is ABIT IS7-E2 with one Serial-ATA hard disk and
two DVD devices on the IDE-1 channel. IDE-2 is empty.

Please help, what can cause this annoying delay and how it could be
prevented.

Thanks,
IG
