I saw a windows-based program called magictwin do it, with one video card
(dual output) and y-splitters on ps/2 so it should be able to be done

Yes it's possible...

You need a second graphic card,
A second screen,
a USB KeyBoard/Mouse

Or you can use an old pc with a network card
to get the same effect more efficiently...
