where, and what, is this missing texexec?

FYI, this post concerns SuSE 9.0 Pro on i686.

Hi Everybody,

1. Four orphaned links have appeared in my /usr/bin directory:

makempy
fdf2tan
texfind
texfont

2. Each points to it's apparent 'parent' :-) in

/usr/share/texmf/teTeX/bin/i586-linux-libc6, as follows:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 2004-05-03 06:24 makempy ->
../share/texmf/teTeX/bin/i586-linux-libc6/makempy

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 2004-05-03 06:24 fdf2tan ->
../share/texmf/teTeX/bin/i586-linux-libc6/fdf2tan

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 2004-05-03 06:24 texfind ->
../share/texmf/teTeX/bin/i586-linux-libc6/texfind

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 2004-05-03 06:24 texfont ->
../share/texmf/teTeX/bin/i586-linux-libc6/texfont

3. These apparent 'parents' are, in turn, symlinked to a single, um,
grandparent file called "texexec", as follows:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 2004-05-03 06:24 makempy ->
texexec

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 2004-05-03 06:24 fdf2tan ->
texexec

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 2004-05-03 06:24 texfind ->
texexec

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 2004-05-03 06:24 texfont ->
texexec

4. All the above links are broken because it seems texexec has taken a
cruise. It is nowhere to be found on the file system and I'm
perplexed. I've googled this a bit, but I'm not a teTeX user and what
I'm finding isn't making any sense -- no context. Do I have a broken
package? What is the appropriate fix?

Thanks in advance for any kindly shared enlightenment.

regards,
