You mean sco does not support the -X argument to the ssh command?!!

The normal way to do this is to set the sshd in the remote host to
"11XForwarding yes" in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and also set the local machine
to "ForwardX11 yes" in /etc/ssh/ssh_config.

That way you don't even need the -X argument when connecting.
Is your SCO setup such that it won't honor these???
