SuSE 9.1/YaST miss SCSI devices

After upgrading Suse 9.0 Pro to Suse 9.1 Pro, Yast does only detect 1 of my connected SCSI devices, a Yamaha CRW4416S internal CD burner. The other two become not detected or accessible, a HP DVD100 Writer internal DVRW burner and an Epson Perfection 1640 scanner, all three connected to the same SCSI controller, Adaptec 2904/AIC-7850.

My x86 Athlon/700 PC contains the related:
1 60 GB Matrox 5T060H6 IDE disk
partitioned for Windows, SuSE9 and SJDS
1 Adaptec 2940 U2W SCSI controller
without any current device connected
1 Adaptec 2904/AIC-7850 SCSI controller
with the three SCSI devices connected

However, all three SCSI devices have been and still become detected and work OK on the same PC, when booting (using GRUB) my alternative OSs, Windows 2000 Pro or Sun Java Desktop System (based on Suse 8.1 !). The latter is also just upgraded to SJDS R2. The SCSI scanner was not automatically detected with SJDS/Yast, but was listed in the scanner table for manual selection and then configured.

Besides, the SuSE 9.1 DVD1 software was booted and installed using just (the later missing) HP DVD100 Writer! In case something had been unsuccessful with the 9.1 Upgrade, I afterwards made a fresh New 9.1 installation on the same disk partition.

But the problem still exist, only 1 of my 3 SCSI devices is detected or found. The HP DVD Writer is not listed or accessible using the KDE 3.2 desktop "My Computer" CD burner drive. Yast/Hardware/CDdrive and Yast/Hardware/Info/SCSI list only the Yamaha CRW drive. The Yast/Hardware/Scanner finds no SCSI scanner, and no-one is available in the table for manual selecting (as with SJDS)! I also wonder why Yast/Hardware/SCSI controller does NOT list the Adaptec 2904/AIC-7850 SCSI controller, only the AHA-2940 U2W controller?

To check and compare, I have also tried the following commands:

On SuSE 9.1:
1. hwinfo --storage_ctrl
which list
20. Adaptec AHA-2940 U2W (IRQ11)
21. Adaptec 2904/AIC-7850 (IRQ5)

2. modprobe aic7xxx

3. dmesg
which shows driver Adapec AIC7XXX loaded for
scsi0: Adaptec AHA-2940 U2W
scsi1: Adaptec 2904
:A:2 Epson Perfection 1640
:A:3 Yamaha CRW4416s

1. As for SuSE9.1, exept numbering
21 and 22 (instead of 20. and 21)

2. insmod aic7xxx

4. As for SuSE9.1 but in addition
the third SCSI device, HP DVD100 Writer

Is this a bug in or fault with Suse9.1, other suggestions to solve this problem?
