Suse 9.0 Proffesional
Samsung-1510 mono laser printer. (on the box claimed to be linux compatible).
Usb port hardware versionn 1.x
cups 1.1.19-85

Same box and printer on mdk 9.2 & mdk 10.0 & win without problem.

It is not so much a problem to install it..only via to get it to test page..not from any appl.
Everything seems to be there when installed via yast..but usb port comes up as unknown device..but no dice.

Some additional info..
>From cold boot and usb cable connected and printer live.
In cups print manager..add printer..the device page..has all sorts off printer ports and up 24 serial ports..but the usb port looks like this..
Unknown network device (usb).

Again from cold boot and usb cable..disconnected..
Cups printer manager device page now have..16 printer usb ports available and still 24 serial ports and the other lot.
What happens to all those pretty usb ports when the printer is connected.

Please..hope some-one out there have a solution.
