I may be a little out of line here but I don't think so.

You expressed about two sentences of thanks for help from the list, and that's

But your email contained more that 50 lines of extraneous stuff that had
*nothing* at all to do with the business of the list.

Although I am usually the last one the say so, please leave your 'extra
thoughts and blessings' for those cases where they are more appropriate.
Perhaps in emails to your relatives. They do not belong here on the list.
