Ummmm.... sr0 is a scsi device... so, if this is an ATAPI drive, then you
should double check that the IDE-SCSI module is loding correctly.

Just for the record, I've done one update yo 8.1 and one fresh install...
both went flawlessly and I have no issues mounting CDs.
