Also check how /usr/lib/libGL.so and /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 are symlinked.

/usr/lib/libGL.so should point to /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 and
/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 should point to /usr/lib/GL/libGL.so.<version>.nv_glx

<version> is currently 1.0.2880

Thanks for the symlinks, my /usr/lib/libGL.so was linked to
GL/libGL.so.1.3.mesasoft so I corrected it.

However, running any of the games like tuxracer still reports "3D hardware
support not available: No 3D graphics card available or 3D support not
configured yet."

Any ideas?

Jamie

Also check that you have libGLcore.so.1 linked to /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.xx.nv_glx (not exactly sure about the end of that filename since I'm not on the right system to doublecheck, but you'll see the file in /usr/lib. You should have only one libGLcore.xxxxxx and it's probably linked to mesa's libGLcore.
