During boot up on new SuSE 8.0 install, [albeit using Acronis OS Selector to
play with some partitions after affected ones]

fsck 1.26 (3-Feb-2002)
Warning... fsck.ext2 for device /dev/hda6 exited with signal 11.
fsck.ext2 /dev/hda6 failed (status 0x08). Run Manually!

I then get to single user/maintenance mode

# e2fsck /dev/hda6
e2fsck 1.26 (3-Feb-2002)
Segmentation fault

However both tomsrtbt 2.0.23 and Mandrake 8.2 say the partition is fine

Booting from SuSE rescue mode from DVD similarly segfaults
and -d flag doesn't report anything

Any ideas folks?

Would compiling the latest version of e2fstools 1.27 help? Could SuSE
investigate releasing the latest version?
