this depends on how many hosts you need in your network. when you subnetted
10.0.0.0 with the 255.255.255.0 you carved out a network of 254 hosts from
the entire block (10.0.0.1-10.0.0.254 with broadcast address of 10.0.0.255)
if you dont need more hosts than that on your new network, you can use the
same subnet mask.
