Re: [SLE] Printing HTML Source

HI all....

I'm glad to see that you've got it printing. But a simpler idea, why not try
to open the html file in the KDE text editor? I did that with a html file and
it showed the coding. Then print from there.

What do you think?

Thank you Anders, -Plp-ascii did the trick! -Plp-raw didn't work--nothing
printed. And -Plp-ascii still interprets the file as containing HTML and
takes several liberties with fonts, highlighting things according to
whether they are tags, attributes, strings, etc. I wish it would leave
well enough alone and just give me monospaced, but I can live with the
formatting.

Appreciatively,

I've tried cat'ting the file strait to /dev/lp0, but nothing
happened. I'd sure like to know why this one is so difficult, for
I don't see why lpr should be doing this conversion in the first
place, especially on a .txt file.

Printing to printer lp -Plp is 1) completely unnecessary, since lp
is the default, and 2) a synonym for "auto" which if you look at
apsfilter's sources will try to parse your code and create
postscript out of it and send it through ghostscript to print.

What you should do is print it through either printer raw (-Plp-raw)
or printer ascii (-Plp-ascii). With lp-raw there is no conversion,
and with lp-ascii it is assumed to be ascii text.

Anders
